Developer Announces New Luxury Condominium For Weston Hills Country Club
Weston Hills Resort Group LLC, has unveiled new and updated plans to redevelop Weston Hills Country Club. Plans now call for a mid-rise luxury condominium building in addition to upgrades to the golf course and clubhouse. Located directly across from the Club, The Lodge at Weston Hills (www.thelodgeatwestonhills.com) will feature 255 residences, instead of 274 rental units previously proposed, with prices starting in the low $300,000s.
“We always thought there was a need for a quality rental building in Weston, but after receiving feedback from the community over the past several months, we found many people preferred condominiums so we listened and made the change,” said Lon Tabatchnick, CEO of the Lojeta Group, one of the principals of Weston Hills Resort Group LLC. “Many people have told us they can get behind a product like this, so we are encouraged and excited to see the response.”
The Lodge at Weston Hills will offer five floorplans with one, two, and three bedrooms. Unit sizes range from 751 square feet to 1,810 square feet. Each residence comes with nine-foot high ceilings, impact glass windows, stainless steel appliances, porcelain wood-flooring, quartz countertops and high-speed internet.
Building features include: a front-desk concierge, activities director, club room, exhibition kitchen studio, state-of-the-art fitness room, and resort-style heated pool with cabanas, hot tub and fire pit.. There will also be a community park and dog walk, storage lockers, bicycle repair station, electric car charging stations and covered parking.
Tabatchnick said the condominium is designed to appeal to retired couples, empty nesters and high- earning professionals without children.
Weston Hills Resort Group LLC has a contract to purchase Weston Hills Country Club and has committed to investing more than $10 million in improvements. They include renovating both championship golf courses, upgrading the clubhouse facility, building a resort-style swimming pool, poolside bar and restaurant, six tennis courts and two pickle ball courts, and a fitness center.
Tabatchnick and his partners plan to use proceeds from the real estate to make long overdue capital improvements to the club. The group has submitted an application to the City of Weston for rezoning in order to build the luxury condominium.
“Once we restore Weston Hills Country Club to its first-class condition, we anticipate growing membership again and creating a sustainable business model going forward,” said Tabatchnick, whose Lojeta Group has developed other luxury condominium buildings in South Florida including the Villas of Positano and Positano Beach on Hollywood Beach, as well as 200 East in Boca Raton. “This is a pivotal time for the club.
Tabatchnick continued: “If we can modernize the facilities and boost membership, then property values around the Club will remain strong and continue growing. We have seen too many examples in South Florida of once-prominent golf clubs that have been neglected and fallen into disrepair only to create eyesores for neighbors. That is not what anyone wants for Weston Hills.”
Weston Hills Resort Group, LLC has hired a talented design team led by Adache Group, an architectural firm based in Fort Lauderdale. Esteemed golf course architect Tom Fazio II was hired to evaluate upgrades to the 36-hole golf course.
